Tay Zonday got popular in part due to nerds at 4chan voting up his Chocolate Rain video and posting it on other websites. They actually got him to do a cover of “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley. Why that song? Well, it’s used to “rickroll” people; tell someone that you have something really cool to show them on youtube, but in reality you just send them the link to Rick Astley. Rick Astley is not a good surprise.
